  • Hoyt Arboretum.  "At Hoyt Arboretum every tree has a story to tell. Founded in 1928 to conserve endangered species and educate the community, Hoyt Arboretum encompasses 187 ridge-top acres, accessible by trails covering 12 miles. A place of beauty and serenity in all seasons, the Arboretum is easily accessible from anywhere in the metropolitan area, by car, bus or the MAX light rail. You will also find parking, restroom facilities, ADA accessible trails and ADA parking at or near the Visitor Center.

An arboretum is a promise to future generations. Just as we are enjoying mature and wonderful trees that were planted many years ago, the trees we plant today will grow to provide shade, beauty and value for decades and centuries to come. More than 5,800 specimens from around the world grow here, including more than 1,100 species, which are valuable in reforesting damaged habitats. Hoyt Arboretum is a living laboratory where anyone can enjoy trees and plants that would not otherwise grow in our climate or habitat."
