- Dining out in Portland. "I'm 33 and live in the Portland Metro Area. I work hard. I drive fast. I play often. I'm sarcastic, appreciate irony, and find humor in even the darkest of events. I'm non-traditional. I question authority. I'm a know-it-all and a planner. And most days, I wake up thinking the world is full of fundamentally good people... and have a lot of problems when I'm proven wrong. Any other questions?"
- Fodors.com. "These days, Portland is to dining what Angelina Jolie is to the movies. Rising star chefs are flocking to this playground of sustainability and creativity: a major portion of Portland's hottest new restaurants change menus weekly—sometimes even daily—depending upon the ingredients they have delivered to their door that morning from local farms. A combination of fertile soils, temperate weather, nearby waters, and an urban growth boundary means that a bountiful harvest (of anything from lettuces to hazelnuts, mushrooms to salmon) is within any Portland chef's reach."
- Food Carts Portland. "This site is an ode to Portland’s food carts, and a practical guide on where to find them and what to eat once you get there. It contains a listing of carts, a map, a search feature, and categories by cuisine types and specific locations. It also contains photos and menus if we can get them. We tend to write in the positive about these carts, although we will always be honest in my findings. Restated, this isn’t a “review” site. We would rather our readers make up their own minds as to what they like and don’t like, and don’t really think it is fair to really put a $5- 7 dollar meal at a small independently owned local business under a microscope like that. Thus, you won’t see star ratings here or too many harsh judgments like you might see on some other food sites."

- Portland Food and Drink. "I started Portland Food and Drink 2005, because I felt I couldn’t trust many of the restaurant reviews in Portland. It seemed like every restaurant received a great rating in the Portland press, even those that were considered by many in town to be lousy. There were so many positive accolades, I found myself spending evenings discussing the phenomenon with friends in the industry. It just didn’t make sense..."
